Situated in the heart of the Southern Alps Lake Wanaka and the surrounding area is a diverse and spectacular region with endless options for visitors.
Lake Wanaka township has a population of approximately 5,000 and the downtown area has a variety of cafe's, restaurants and shops.
Relaxing pastimes can include lake and river walks, fishing, boat cruises, golf, sailing and scenic flights and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, canyoning, mountaineering and jet boating.

In winter there is a choice of ski resorts - Treble Cone, Cardrona, Snow Farm and Snow Park all less than an hours drive from Wanaka.
